"Specialties" are dog shows exclusively organized for showing a single breed, in our case, Bernese Mountain Dogs.  Specialties are a venue where you will see the largest number of Bernese Mountain Dogs in a single location.  They are fun for everyone, even if you are not competing with a Berner.  They are a great place to learn about the breed, see an array of dogs, and meet breeders. One note of caution, wait until the competitors are finished showing their dogs before you ask a lot of questions!  Many take these shows very seriously and are concentrating on what they are about to do, so wait until they have shown their dog and can focus on your questions.

Performance events for this breed include obedience, drafting, rally, agility, tracking and herding. These events are sponsored by various organizations -- local Bernese Mountain Dog Clubs, the AKC, various national and regional BMDCA specialties and AHBA.  For information on various performance events sponsored by TRBMDC click on "Performance Events".
